The Partnership at Drugfree.org is an established national not for profit organization dedicated to developing innovative communications programs and online solutions that meet the needs of parents and families. We are conducting a search for an experienced program manager to join our growing team -- someone who has been managing the development of high-impact communications programs for 5-7 years. The program manager serves as the team lead for select programs in The Partnership's portfolio; responsible for establishing, managing and maintaining the excellence of those programs; enlisting strategic and marketing partners from both public and private sectors; and ensuring on-time, on-budget completion of all program deliverables. The ideal candidate is an extremely creative and entrepreneurial leader experienced in the application of research to the development of effective communications strategies, and the effective use of both traditional and new media in the service of strategic objectives. Knowledge of mainstream corporate and cause marketing, including advertising and public relations, is strongly preferred.
Major Responsibilities
• Report to the EVP, director of program management, coordinating program objectives with The Partnership's overarching strategic objectives, and aligning program activity with other activity on the editorial calendar.
• Develop a mastery of information about target audiences and their interaction with the drug issue
• Identify strategic needs/gaps and develop high impact programmatic solutions
• Help to develop program proposals and budgets and key milestones/metrics for measuring program effectiveness
• Help establish and manage key funder and strategic partner relationships in both the private and public sectors
• Serve as project lead on select programs, including (ideally) those directed to Hispanic and other multicultural audiences
• Collaborate effectively with other Partnership staff to develop program components including (for example): digital assets such as landing pages, web content and/or engagement tools, community education presentations and marketing tools (advertising, public relations materials, events)
• Work with research colleagues to evaluate program effectiveness and prepare regular reports on program performance for funders and other partners
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in program design and implementation
• Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish
• Some knowledge of substance abuse prevention/early intervention a major plus
• Some experience with community/school/workplace/sports or media programs: design, implementation, evaluation
• Integrated social marketing expertise (including social media)
• Experience using media, arts and/or pop culture to increase public interest in a social issue or personal behavior
• Hispanic audience knowledge; familiarity with multicultural/niche marketing a plus
• Ability to work with and present to corporate, foundation and government funders
• Excellent communication, account and partner management and strong team-building skills
