Specific responsibilities include:
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

• Manage the accounting integration with the brand new "Altru" ticketing/fundraising system

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess excellent accounting, analytic and computer skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Bachelor's Degree/masters in accounting
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience in a not-for-profit organization
• Detailed knowledge of accounting software (experience with Fund EZ is a plus)
• Advanced knowledge of Excel

Reports to: Controller

Job Requirements:
• Manage accounts payables department: Staff, procedures and manuals.
• Create policies, review and approve: purchase order; delivery receipt; packing slip; and receiving; vendor invoices, process checks, cost control, contracts and expense analysis.
• Understanding Basic accounting to ensure proper GL coding and Journal entries.
• Work with department directors to ensure proper expense reporting, approval and cost controls.
• Manage all credit cards, charge cards and suppliers.
• Prepare monthly Reports: cash flow, capital expenditures, prepaids and advance accounts
• Reconcile monthly A/P ledger to GL
• Monthly allocation of expense: overhead/headcount/program distributions
• Prepare cost analyses as requested by the Controller
• Adhere to the internal controls, procedures and regulations
• Ensure proper archival of records and year end 1099 reporting

Qualifications/Skills:
• Over 10 years experience in accounts payable and Supervisor for at least 3 years
• Work experience any ERP accounting systems, Blackbaud prefer.
• Experience working with auditors; independent; self-motivated
• Experience in creating, documenting, and implementing internal and expense controls
• Ability to work well with all department heads and management of staff prioritizing work.
• Bachelors degree in accounting and advanced Excel skills
• Must be totally independent in running the department and conform to all tax requirements.
