HELP STOP FOLA COAL MTR MINING PERMIT #0302292

In accordance with WV Code 22-3-21(b) we may appeal the DEP decision to the Surface Mine Board within 30 days of the applicant being notified. Fola Coal was notified on May 3rd, 2010 so that gives us a little over 2 weeks to gather signatures and mail the petition through certified mail. Please help us stop Fola Coal from taking anymore of our mountains!

Save Broadwood Farm, Dunster

Broadwood Farm, 150 acres of pastures, marshes, streams and hedgerows in the Exmoor National Park, lovingly restored by ecological farming, is threatened in March 2010 by a change of tenancy and management.
This petition calls on the owners, the Crown Estate Commissioners, and their agents to protect the future of the farm. We have just 12 days to save this wonderful part of Exmoor - please help us by signing now.

The Bike Share Feasibility Study Says Yes - Now Please Make It Happen in 2010!

Dear Mayor Nutter: The Philadelphia Bike Share Concept Study completed for your Office of Transportation and Utilities says "YES" to bike sharing in Philadelphia. It is now time for you to say "Yes" and make bike sharing happen in Philadelphia during this second half of your first term as Mayor! You have stated repeatedly your commitment to make Philadelphia the "Most Sustainable City in America." Your Greenworks Philadelphia plan demonstrates this commitment. I believe that Public Use Bicycling (bike sharing) is the most publicly visible initiative you can start to strengthen this commitment. Everyone will recognize a shared bike and know our streets are less congested, pollution is reduced and our citizens are getting more exercise. Now that the Philadelphia Bikeshare Concept Study says "Yes," please join these other US Mayors: Fenty, Menino, Hickenlooper, Rybak, Newson and Bower who have said "Yes" and are starting Bike Share Programs for their cities this year. Accelerate your timetable for bike share.

Vote for Wine Shipping Bill HB716

Dear Chairman Davis & Vice-Chair Rudolph,

You are probably tired of hearing about wine shipping, and frankly, so are we! Senator Conway's office has told us that "the bill has to rotate out of the House first. It is the understanding that the bill will not come out of the House. This means there is no reason for the Senate to act on the bill..."

I implore you to make this my last correspondence on this matter. Please make sure that HB716 gets a favorable vote from your committee so that all of your House colleagues will finally be able to lend their voices of support to this issue.

Respectfully,

Fix "Plan of Development" Guidelines to Allow Real Public Input

Deputy Mayor Greenberger and Members of the Planning Commission:

As a resident and community stakeholder in the Central Delaware Riverfront Overlay District, I urge you to make significant amendments to the Planning Commission's Draft "Plan of Development" Regulations before finalizing them. The current draft regulations provide no opportunity for meaningful citizen or community input into the development process. Specifically, the draft regulations:

- Make virtually no mention of public input;

- Provide no provision for sufficient, meaningful advance notice of POD applications to communities or community associations;

- Do not provide for any meetings between developers and communities or community associations prior to a Planning Commission vote on a project; and

- Allow public input only on a case by case basis, at the Commission's discretion.
