Remove Nigeria from US Terrorism Watch List

Nigeria has been scrutenized by the actions of one expatriate, Farouk Umaru AbdulMutallab. Residing and studying at the U.K. until 2009, he seeked to bring down a U.S. airliner on Christmas day. In fact, Farouk was only radicalized while residing in the U.K., with influences from al-Qaeda members based in both the U.K. and Yemen. None of these ever occurred on Nigerian soil. Even Nigeria's known domestic violences do not qualify to be of international concerns. Hence, with weeks of angry comments from ordinary Nigerians on news media, and doubts of the Federal Government towards its relationship with the United States, we all seek to demand the U.S. to remove the Federal Republic from its black list of terrorist states.

Support schools for 5 million Afghan children

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Saturday that lack of educational facilities and attacks by Taliban have kept five million school-age children out of schools Taliban militants have burned down hundreds of schools and targeted teachers and students

'Five million of our school-age children can not still go to schools,' Karzai told a gathering in a high-school, adjacent to his fortified presidential palace, in a ceremony to mark the beginning of school year.

While some children were restricted by economic hardship and lack of facilities in their areas, others were not allowed by their parents because of fears of attacks or their schools were burned down by the militants, he said.

During their reign from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban entirely banned girls' schools and changed educational curriculum for the boys' that resembled the one that is taught in religious schools.

Following their ouster of their regime by a US-led invasion some eight years ago, the militants have burned down hundreds of schools and targeted teachers and students - mainly in southern and eastern regions.

Stop Filipino Women Sex Traffickers

Low regard for women in the Phillipines persists as perpetuated by the church, home, school and mass media. Not only women's labor power but women's bodies has become a commodity. This is due to the fact that the feudal-patriarchal system is maintained together with the bourgoise thinking towards women. It is evident that under these circumstances women shall never become equal with men and will remain second class citizens.
