Parent Partner

Requisition #4596 Parent Partner (Parent Support, Boston) Schedule: Monday - Friday flexible Salary: $13.86 per hour


Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to parents via group facilitation as well as 1:1 home visits.
  • Accompany families to treatment and education planning meetings for children/teens with mental health/emotional issues.
  • Assist in identifying and accessing resources.
  • Work closely with service providers including DMH and DCF.
Qualifications:
  • Previous personal/professional experiences working effectively with adults parenting children/teens with mental health/emotional issues.
  • Must be familiar with DMH/DCF systems, as well as Special Education services.
  • Demonstrate understanding of mental illness.
  • Use of own vehicle required.
  • Driving License Required? Yes

President Obama says "I do" and now it's time to for the rest of the United States to stand with marriage equality.

From North Carolina to California, Grassroots Campaigns is dedicated to activating and mobilizing people to take a stand for progressive issues. Be it marriage equality, women's reproductive rights, or voting rights, we are focused on educating people and building public support around these issues to have their voices be heard.

A movement takes more than just one person standing behind it - now that the President has announced his support for marriage equality, now more than ever we need to act!

Grassroots Campaigns, in partnership with the ACLU, is hiring Assistant Directors to run our campaign offices across the country to stand up for equality.

If hired, you will manage one of our campaign offices, build community support, educate the public, and recruit new members for leading non-profit partner organizations, like the ACLU. Grassroots Campaigns is actively working on campaigns to protect the environment, fight poverty, and protect women's rights.

In this position, you will take on leadership and responsibility, while learning how to run a field campaign. You will need strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic and desire for political change. You must have the leadership ability to oversee a team and an orientation towards handling substantial responsibility.

Job responsibilities include:
Recruit a team of 10-40 canvassers to represent top issue-based organizations on the front lines of the progressive movement. Responsible for developing and implementing a plan to hire talented staff.
Manage, train and develop staff into activists and leaders in a canvass office. Work with staff to develop them into the next leaders of the progressive movement.
Canvass to raise funds and build support in the community. Lead staff by example and work on the front lines for the most important issues facing our nation.

Requirements for Position:
Strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic, and desire for political change are essential. Candidates must be able to work within a team, have proven leadership ability and an orientation towards handling a lot of responsibility. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications. Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify candidates for additional leadership positions.

Progressive Organization Seeks Senior Bookkeeper

Grassroots Campaigns is a progressive organization that specializes in running outreach campaigns for political parties, candidates, and advocacy groups. By running campaigns on behalf of groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, Democratic National Committee, The Nature Conservancy and Oxfam America we can focus on building up their membership and base of support. Also, by running field campaigns for Democratic Candidates we can mobilize citizens to be more actively engaged and involved in politics.

Since 2003, Grassroots Campaigns has worked with many of the most progressive organizations and political candidates to date. Our campaigns have been on the front line of a variety of social change movements and historic elections.

Grassroots Campaigns is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to help expand our central financial and administrative operations, in tandem with, and parallel to expanding our operations for the 2012 Presidential Campaign year and beyond.

Desired Qualifications: Minimum of three years experience in finance or accounting including payroll, budgeting, forecasting, planning, and analysis, project management, A/P and A/R oversight. High level of experience and ability with Excel. Degree in finance, business or accounting desirable. IT Experience a plus. Must be detail oriented and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, as well as have good problem solving, management, and communication skills.

Reporting to the Finance Director/Controller, Responsibilities will Include:
• Assisting in supervision of bookkeeping and administrative staff responsible for payroll and accounts payable.
• Completion of monthly account reconciliations.
• Filing and Maintaining state registrations and good standing status, insurance coverage, workers compensation, risk management and other regulatory compliance.
• Assisting with the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
• Collaborating with cashiering staff to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for donations raised on behalf of progressive causes.
• Working with company leadership of expansion of operations, facilities, and resources.

Location and Expectations: Grassroots Campaigns is casual office environment, located in downtown Boston. Candidates will work 60+ hours weekly, with time in the evening and on weekends.

Compensation: Negotiable, plus benefits
