Work with the State's Largest and Most Effective Environmental Organization and Protect New York from this:

Right now, large companies like Exxon and Halliburton are pushing to drill for gas throughout the State using a controversial drilling method known as horizontal hydraulic fracturing, or, fracking. This process threatens to endanger our health by contaminating drinking water with dangerous toxins and radioactive material.
In states like Pennsylvania, where fracking has been given the green light, millions of gallons of contaminated wastewater has polluted the drinking water of hundreds of thousands of people. According to secret documents revealed by The New York Times and studies from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this wastewater contains high levels of radioactive contaminants and other toxic and cancer causing chemicals.
We must act now to protect New York's water supply and the public health of millions of New Yorkers! NYPIRG is organizing in communities across the state so that we can prevent an environmental catastrophe. In order to win, we must educate and empower the public to take a stand on this critical issue. By generating support from hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, we can take on the big gas companies and win the most important environmental fight in a generation.
The ideal candidate is energetic and has good communication skills and a strong concern for environmental and social justice issues. Prior campaign experience is a plus and there are rapid advancement opportunities for qualified individuals.
